My current research interests are in bacteriology, specifically antimicrobial resistant bacteria and their pathogenesis, with a focus on colonization, infections, and human health implications. Antimicrobial resistant bacteria are becoming an increasingly serious threat to human health worldwide, particularly in developing and underdeveloped countries. Bacterial diseases such as cholera, tuberculosis, and typhoid fever have wreaked havoc in recent decades and continue to do so despite the threat of losing the only known method of combating them, antibiotics. In order to develop new drugs, researchers are constantly looking for new ways to understand the pathogens' internal machinery. Analyzing the genetic and metabolic aspects of pathogens can provide new drug targets for developing novel therapeutic strategies. So, the prospect of a solution to this critical problem is a major goal of my research field. Throughout my Bachelor's and Masters' degrees, as well as my academic career, I gained experience in various aspects of bacteriology, particularly their growth, environmental preferences, genetics, biochemical pathways, and infection potential.
