Department of Microbiology started its journey in 2009. Since establishment, this department has become one of the best departments in this university. The Department of Microbiology has set its goal to become a center for excellence in respect of both academic and research aspects. By providing world class education with research friendly environment, this department has been trying to attaining the goal. As a consequence, undergrad students can acquire complete knowledge of fundamental, advanced and applied microbiology and graduates become capable of applying their theoretical knowledge and technical skills in practical field for personal, professional or research perspectives.

Degrees offered by the department are Bachelor of Science (BS) in Microbiology and Masters of Science (MS) in Microbiology. Both undergraduate and post graduate program provide comprehensive knowledge of theoretical as well as applied or practical microbiology which enable the students to become updated with the global trend in the field microbiology.
